The usual adult Naproxen dosage for ankylosing spondylitis ranges from 250 mg to 500 mg taken twice a day. Another treatment option for this condition is a dosage of Naproxen sodium that ranges from 275 mg to 550 mg taken twice daily. The maximum dosage for treating this condition should not exceed 1500 mg of Naproxen or 1650 mg of Naproxen sodium, both divided into two doses and a maximum treating period of 6 months.

Another treatment option for this condition is a daily dosage of Naproxen sodium that ranges from 275 mg to 550 mg taken twice daily. The maximum Naproxen dosage is 1500 mg per day and the Naproxen sodium dosage may be increased to a maximum of 1650 mg, both divided into two doses.

Rheumatoid arthritis is treated in adults with a Naproxen dosage that ranges from 250 mg to 500 mg taken twice a day or a Naproxen sodium dosage that ranges from 275 mg to 550 mg taken twice each day. The maximum dosage for this condition is 1500 mg and the Naproxen sodium dosage is 1650 mg per day, both divided into two doses and for a maximum treatment period of 6 months.

Acute gout requires (for adults) a Naproxen dosage of 750 mg or a Naproxen sodium dosage of 825 mg every 8 hours, followed by 250 mg of Naproxen or 275 mg of Naproxen sodium each day. This treatment generally lasts from 2 days to 3 days.

Adults can also efficiently reduce pain with a Naproxen sodium dosage of 550 mg, followed by another 500 mg of Naproxen dose daily, taken every 6 to 8 hours as needed.

Fever and pain in children older than 2 years of age can be treated with a Naproxen dosage that ranges from 2.5 mg/kg to 5 mg/kg daily, taken every 8 to 10 hours as needed. The maximum Naproxen dose in children for these conditions is 10 mg/kg.

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis requires for children above 2 years 5 mg/kg of Naproxen taken twice a day, with a maximum dose of 1000 mg per day.
